Percy Jackson And the Lightning Thief review
So I took my lil bros out to the movies last night. They both wanted to see the Percy Jackson movie so I was willing to take them since we all read the books. So the movie started out pretty much the same as the book. And the movie kept going and the minotaur was pretty cool and the hydra. The camp was pretty inimaginative from what I depicted from the novel. Most of the actors were pretty good except for the guy who played Luke, I pictured him to be the cool kid on camp. But really in the movie he was the biggest deuche within the whole grounds. Pretty much the movie stopped following the book once Percy got to camp which was disappointing. But overall the movie going experience was enjoyful and I'd give it a 7/10.
The movie was action packed, smooth flowing story line of its own tho beside from the book, and to my surprise the movie added in a whole bunch of babes. Rosario Dawson was I have to say my favorite, as her role as hades wife. She was just drop dead gorgeous in this film. The girl who played annabeth was very fair as well. I was surprised they showed such old people in the movies who are like an average of 22 when the book portrays 12 yr old kids. Which is definitely fine with me to have that older cast consisting of Sean Bean, Pierce Brosnon, Uma Thurman, and soo many more made it pretty awesome. Though it was weird to see Boromir be the head of all the gods.
Also The Lightning Thief had a lot of humor for both young and old, specially when they go into the Lotus casino and all eat the cookies and kinda go into a "drugged" state and appear to be high and just start partying it up. Pretty hilarious. All and all I'd say its worth your money to go and see the film, won't be let down at all unless you are super hardcore to the book's storyline. I'd give the movie a Timtastic review rather than the Timerrible cerficication
