After last night's embarassment of a game Prince Fielder made a brilliant comment after going 0-4 with 4Ks.
“I didn’t make any contact. I don’t know what else to say,” said Fielder
That's weird. Last time Prince struck out 4 times he also had 3 doubles and 2HR in the same game. Rare is the game where one strikes out 4 times and does not make good contact on the baseball. The two seem to go hand in hand.
Can you just beat up Manny Parra again, please?
Or maybe next time say, "Yeah, I struck out 4 times, but so what? I'm Prince Fielder and I have an awesome 1.036 OPS this year and I think I can afford to have an off day once in a while. Can a brother buy a pitching staff?"
Something along the lines of that would do.

A Tribute Cont'd...

Prince wins the derby in glorious fashion, as we knew he would(I called a Nelson Cruz / Prince Fielder showdown beforehand. Trust me). And upon accepting the trophy UNTUCKS THE JERSEY, right in the Cardinals home field. After a win over Pujols. Awesome.
So in honor of Prince, a haiku:
The Prince has prevailed,
Cards' fan weeps at the mere sight,
untuck that jersey
Cards' fan weeps at the mere sight,
untuck that jersey

Thank God for Ryan Braun

The title says it all. Every living-breathing Sconnie has been praising Jesus' name since Wednesday when Braun signed his amazing 8 year contract.
Ryan Braun has catapulted himself ahead of Prince Fielder in terms of popularity in signing this deal. Braun is now the most popular Brewer in my significant lifetime(4 years).
Just think back in '79 when the Brewers already had an established star in Robin Yount, and along comes this animal in Paul Molitor(who should have just won Rookie of the Year) and the Brewers are blessed by a surplus of superstars!
This is also how we find ourselves today. Two superstars in Ryan Bran and Prince Fielder. I believe Braun will be in the ranks of Mollie and Robbie Y. It will be interesting to see what becomes of Prince. Buster Olney said on a radioshow that he thinks Prince is gone after this season. I would not be shocked.
The money we would save from dealing Prince we could easily sign Corey Hart long term and even take a gamble on Rickie Weeks. We must have faith in my main man Rickie. Just call me "The Seer". He will break out of his funk one day and realize that he's really really good at baseball. I give him till All-star break.

Mark Attanasio makes me happy
Phoenix - Milwaukee Brewers owner Mark Attanasio met Saturday with general manager Doug Melvin to begin making plans for offering multi-year contracts to some of the team's talented young players. One of those players is slugger Prince Fielder, whom Attanasio said would be paid whatever it takes to keep him.
"I'm rooting for Prince to hit 60 home runs this year," said Attanasio, who gave his annual "state of the team" address to players before the first official full-squad workout at Maryvale Baseball Park.
"We'll figure out a way to pay him."
Boldedness added for emphasis by me. Mark A definitely says all the right things, that's for sure. But to hear(read?) him say this about Prince makes me want to fall to my knees and weep.
I am quite certain that Mark A was sent by Jesus himself to guide the Brewers to the Promised Land.
