A Bold..Yet Necessary Prediction..

With tonight come the winds of glory. With tonight come the winds of change, the winds of battle, the winds of a well-deserved victory. Many of those doubters would allow the Brewers to give up. After all, by an unforeseen circumstance, C.C. Sabathia was not able to secure Game 2 of the Brewers-Phillies War. Though his shield may be shattered, however, the Brewers spear never rests. Dave Bush, a.k.a. Moses, shall lead us to the promised land of playoff victory for the first time in 26 years tomorrow. That's right, I guaranteed it..I said it..I DECLARE it..

THE BREWERS WILL WIN GAME 3, GAME 4, AND GAME 5, and WILL GO ON TO WIN THE WORLD SERIES.

Who is going to get us there? One may wonder, with two, at times, inadequate pitchers stepping to the mound. Let me tell you who shall be the hero of this epic story. It shall be he who held the arms of Dave Bush (Moses) while he battled the likes of, not the Amelakites or the men of Ur, but the despised ranks of Ryan Howard or Jimmy Rollins. Prince Fielder, our Aaron, shall hold up the hands of Moses and we shall reach Canaa.

Who gave up on the Brewers? Not the writers of this blog. We toiled in virtual anonymity for years until our day came. After years of Brewers playoff predictions, it is we who are laughing now. So sit down tomorrow, grab your chainmail and your Shadowfax, and prepare for war. The Brewers-Phillies War of '08 shall not be won easily, but that's the only way we could ask for it. The greatest comebacks begin with the greatest of letdowns.

Today is the day

Today, my friends. Today is the day when 2008 goes down in Brewer lore as a great achievement. All hands on deck. Full speed ahead. 100% effort. No, make that 101% effort.

I have never in my life wanted a Brewer win so badly. I can't even imagine what it would be like if we win. What are the baseball playoffs really like? I've watched them from afar, but now that the playoffs are at the TIPS OF OUR VERY FINGERS I know we must have it. The playoffs are like crack for us junkie Brewer fans. We. Need. It.

Ryan Braun: Please hit lots of HRs today.

CC: Please hit Soriano in the face today.

Prince: Please play league average defense today.

Hart: You really should be sat down, but PLEASE GET A HIT TODAY

Today will either be a euphoric triumph or a failure so monumental that my very fandom may be rattled for a day.

You will not fail us Brewers. It just can't happen. Too many bad things happen to this team and it's about time for the tables to turn. PLAYOFFS HERE WE COME(hopefully)!!!

Thank God for Ryan Braun

The title says it all. Every living-breathing Sconnie has been praising Jesus' name since Wednesday when Braun signed his amazing 8 year contract.

Ryan Braun has catapulted himself ahead of Prince Fielder in terms of popularity in signing this deal. Braun is now the most popular Brewer in my significant lifetime(4 years).

Just think back in '79 when the Brewers already had an established star in Robin Yount, and along comes this animal in Paul Molitor(who should have just won Rookie of the Year) and the Brewers are blessed by a surplus of superstars!

This is also how we find ourselves today. Two superstars in Ryan Bran and Prince Fielder. I believe Braun will be in the ranks of Mollie and Robbie Y. It will be interesting to see what becomes of Prince. Buster Olney said on a radioshow that he thinks Prince is gone after this season. I would not be shocked.

The money we would save from dealing Prince we could easily sign Corey Hart long term and even take a gamble on Rickie Weeks. We must have faith in my main man Rickie. Just call me "The Seer". He will break out of his funk one day and realize that he's really really good at baseball. I give him till All-star break.
